For those you at home that enjoy keeping up with our crazy dog obsessions at home:
Check out Hound Rescue for updates on "Lindie Lou." (This little girl I was depserate to find a foster home for.)

Also, D and I rescued "Dudley" (who isn't up on the available dogs page yet) from Montgomery County animal control on Tuesday night. Thankfully, she had lined up another foster hoem for him...so we were able to do the fun bit. Pick him up, give him a bath, clean his ears and give him his first good meal and cuddle in his new life.

He was a real cutey, young and energetic...and TINY.

The beags and hairs were NOT PLEASED with the prospect of an interloper and potential cut into their food supply, but tolerated him well enough for a few hours.

Hoorah...two more on their way to a lovely life.

I'm a bit bummed at the moment.

D's parents leave tomorrow morning and I already feel teary about it.

I adore them.

Which makes my parent's behaviour even less tolerable. I know they don't mean to be, but sometimes the breadth of their callous disregard for everyone but their own wants/comforts astounds me. I constantly go out of my way to make things work out so that we can see them...but when things aren't exactly as they want or interfere with something important (like a highschool football game), well they just can't be bothered.

It embarasses me especially in front of D's parents who would never dream of casting aside the opportunity to have a least dinner out with them just because they'd rather go to a highschool football game.

It's times like this that I'm reminded why it was so easy for me to walk away from this side of the world and live abroad for so many years. And, it makes me more resolved than ever to settle back down in Australia once we have kids and we want grandparents around to be involved in their life.

I'm used to the disappointment and the guilt I feel with regards to my parents....and if I ever have kids, I'll do my best to shield them from those shitty feelings.

Anyone in the Houston area? Please consider fostering this little girl, or some of the other beags that are in desperate need right now. I think this must be one of Gracie's litter mates. I wish I could foster her. I've been banned from doing it by the furry brigade and the D and I don't think I could handle it emotionally just right now. Plus we've got houseguests....but someone out there has to be able to....look at her....
